Crescent Remembrance

We took a ride to the north, a group of activists concerned with human decency. We went to mark a remarkable event. On this day in 2013 over 30,000 people in the prison system of California went on strike. Other states had prisoners join in to make it the largest prisoner strike in history. They were and are fighting for their humanity. Their right to not be tortured by the state. Their right to be fed decently. Their right not to incriminate themselves by debriefing. They were demanding that they be treated as human beings. We came to remember that day and to tell those that remain entombed in that dungeon that they are not forgotten, their struggle is not in vain. We were part of actions around the state. for more info go to this blog
